A trip to Portland landed me at Proud Mary Cafe for an Aussie style breakfast. I knew about Proud Mary before I moved away from Portland but didn't get the chance to visit. I even knew they had a location in Melbourne, Australia and missed the chance to visit that location as well on a recent trip. So here I am, finally getting a chance to try a place that has been on my list for over a year and it lived up to my expectations.
We arrived around 10am on a Saturday and the place was bustling. We were fortunate to snag a couple seats at the bar and order coffee and breakfast. The latte, like all Australian coffee, was tasty. As for the food, amazing. We had the miso crabby and potato hash complete with Aussie style bacon. Great flavor, excellent presentation. Next stop...the Melbourne location (hopefully!).
